Halloween 2011

Lauren wanted to be a stick figure. I tried to talk her into being a princess or ANYTHING else! Lauren was very happy with her costume. I just needed to figure out how to attach the sticks so I could change them out for each day. She wanted to wear it to school, trunk and treat, and Halloween. Thanks to a good friend..... Packing tape did the trick.

Tyler wanted to be a clown. Justin was upset about this, but since I did the shopping with the kids, Tyler won :)

(The red thing in Ty's teeth is not candy. It is actually a gel pack so his teeth don't hit straight on. His braces are helping)

Wedding Dress-up

Pioneer Trek

Justin and Haley had a very special experience. Once every 4 years our stake puts on a Pioneer Trek, and Haley was old enough to go and Justin was asked to participate as a big brother. Each Wagon has a Ma & Pa, 14-17 kids and a big brother and a big sister. The big brothers and big sisters were made up of Bishopric members and Young Women leaders. For 3 days and 2 nights, they walked and hiked and pulled.

This is where they announced which family you were in. No one knew the family members until this moment. Only a few select Stake Staff knew. These families were carefully selected and prayed over.

After this first night of hiking, the families were given a cup of broth and a roll and went to bed.

The next day after a shorter hike, they had fiddlers and a hoe-down. This is Haley with her partner Daniel.

In the morning they had oatmeal with their families.

In the middle of day 2 the boys were pulled off the wagons to be in the "Mormon Battalion". What really happened...... The boys were lead up a hill to watch all the girls Pull. Most of the boys had a hard time watching the girls pull and push the hardest part of the trail. Haley was blessed to be part of a family that hard working girls and only a couple of hard working boys. She was able to really help move her cart and her family move along. I have to admit, she had a hard time seeing this as a blessing, but she now knows why she was put with her family and had this rough experience.

I am a blessed mom!!

Grand Canyon

Justin and Ty had fun hiking the Grand Canyon with the scouts. Ty is wearing the grey hat and is just holding the flashlight so Tate could wash the dishes. What a hard job for such a little boy (hahahehe)!

Miss Bella

We adopted a new little Yorkie. She is 5 years old and has tall legs. She is afraid of camera, so.... this is the best picture so far. They are on their bunk beds! Bella and Maggie get along good and don't cause any trouble. FYI: Maggie is still my dog and Bella is Haleys' :)

Haley turns 14!

For Haley's party this year, she wanted to have her girlfriends come over and play a game of "Werewolves of Millers Hollow". Everyone had a blast! Ok ok you are probably wondering why there was no boys....., well they were all gone to scout camp. There you have it.
